Celebrating the life and work of Emily Dickinson on her 180th birthday, December 10 The Friends of the Packard Library of Yuba County held a special celebration of the 180th birthday of the beloved American poet Emily Dickinson on December 10, 2011. It was a county-wide event designed to bring a little poetry to the people, and to raise a little money for the Yuba County Library. 180 poems were read at various locations around the county. Many poems were sponsored by individuals, companies or organizations, recognized on the copies of their poem, which were distributed at that poem’s reading location.
